TimePost2 for Windows
by admin on Mar.01, 2009, under Web Designers
I hate to post a negative review like this, but this company is selling a product that is causing people a lot of frustration. I purchased this product almost 3 months ago to use on Windows. My goal was to sync up with FreshBooks. After I purchased it I realized it didn’t work at all with FreshBooks. I contacted there support department at http://getsatisfaction.com/colovo/products/colovo_timepost_windows and they admitted that the Windows version had a lot of problems. They promised a working version “soon”. I even received an email saying a new version was being released “today”. That was over a month ago. I have asked for a refund and they have not complied. I am currently working with PayPal to dispute this purchase. If you purchased TimePost2 for Windows and feel like you didn’t get what you paid for, you may want to do as I did an raise a dispute with PayPal. They have been promising a new version for months on Windows and in my opinion a company should not be charging people for a non-working product. At the very least they should refund your money if you ask for it.
Feel free to post your comments, but please only post factual information to help educate other freelancers on the issues with TimePost for Windows.

Web Design in Massachusetts
When choosing a web design company be sure to interview the designer carefully to make sure they have the right balance of technical and design knowledge. These days a web designer must be more than a graphical artist. He must have the technical experience necessary to write high performance HTML and CSS as well as the SEO knowledge to create a web site that is easy to find by customers using search engines to find a web site.
One final tip, is to make sure the web designer is going to create a prototype or design mock up to show you what the web site will look like before he actually codes it. You don’t want to have any surprises!
How to Find a Web Designer

Tips for finding a web designer
If you’re looking to find a web designer here are some tips to help you find a professional web designer that can help you build a professional web site.
Find someone local
If this is your first time having someone design a website professionally, you will probably feel more comfortable if you find someone local that you can meet with one-on-one
- Use Google to search for a web designer in your home town or in the neighboring towns. Searches with keywords like “Web Designer Boston” or “Web Design Boston”, for example.
- Check your local Chamber of Commerce to find a reputable web designer.
Once you find a web designer
- Make sure the web designer has a professional web site. If the web designer can’t take the time to develop a professional web site you may want to ask your self if they are qualified enough to develop a website for your business.
- Ask the web designer how many years they have been developing web sites. It takes several years to learn to be proficient in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, MySQL, etc. It doesn’t happen overnight and they shouldn’t be learning on your account.
- Does the web designer use a site builder or hand code the HTML and CSS? These days, in order to develop a web site that is optimized for searching it’s almost essential to develop the web site by hand using HTML and CSS and a text editor. If you’re in a non-competitive market you may be able to get away with someone who uses a site builder such as DreamWeaver, which happens to be one of the best.
It’s not easy to develop web sites anymore. Web designer’s these days need to be equally proficient at the technical aspect as well as the design aspects of web design.
Someone who is good with computers is probably not qualified enough to design a website that looks professional and is easy to navigate. And vice versa….Someone who is a graphic designer or illustrator will generally not have the technical know how to create a website that has all the modern functionality of todays websites.
The moral of the story is to take your time and find a web designer that can design a professional looking website that is optimized for searching and is coded using all the latest HTML and CSS standards.
